FIRED UNVACCINATED WORKERS TO BE REINSTATED WITH BACKPAY

NYC was one of the most authoritative cities in the world during the 2020 pandemic and even worse in 2021 when the Mayor enforced covid vaccine mandates on city workers. The mandates applied to businesses as well, whether big or small. Because of these mandates, people were forced to take the jab or quit their jobs.

According to the NY POST, more than 1,750 city workers were fired for refusing to get vaccinated, including 36 members of the NYPD and more than 950 Department of Education employees.

The New York Supreme Court ruled that not only should fired, unvaccinated workers be reinstated, but they should also receive back pay.

“Being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19,” the Monday decision by Judge Ralph J. Porzio said.

This ruling comes a full year after the mandates were imposed upon law enforcement, firefighters government workers. The orders hurt businesses across the city, forcing restaurant owners to ask customers for proof of vaccination, which discriminated against the unvaccinated. As a result, business owners had to choose between upholding the city’s mandates and keeping their businesses afloat after many had been nearly decimated after the 2020 lock down’s.

While this ruling from the NY Supreme Court is a victory for those who were fired unjustly, it does not compensate for businesses that were forced to shut down completely, never to be reopened.
The sad part is even with this ruling, there seems to be no accountability from the people that imposed these egregious mandates. Not even a mention of it from left-wing mainstream media. Nope, they are still talking about January the 6th. Next, they will lie and say that they never supported vaccine mandates or that it was not their idea.
